Improve your digital photography skills on a full day workshop in a hill top studio in Whitstable.
Designed to build confidence and ability you’ll work with a practising art photographer and enjoy group tuition as well as one to one guidance throughout the day. You’ll be introduced to the fundamentals of digital photography, building skill, knowledge and confidence over the course of the day. We will cover the hardware, software and kit used in digital photography and become familiar with the use creative controls to get the best results. We learn how best to interpret light and composition using image editing software, and finally how to print out and use your images to best effect. You do not need an “all bells and whistles DSLR camera” for the workshop but a camera is essential – even if its on your phone!
All materials and tea and coffee will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch and a camera.
Colin Whitaker studied fine art at the Maidstone college of art and worked as a teacher of art for 30 years. A practising artist he has exhibited widely including the fish slab and other galleries in the locality.
Inspired by the countries industrial legacy he makes abstract paintings and photographs derived from the quirky transitional spaces created by man's interaction with the environment. His teachings on photography have inspired many students and professionals of the medium.
